This sharpener is suitable for all wax stick crayons, most notably Stockmar.

A functional & lightweight sharpener, that contains the mess, and empties out easily.  The sharpener does not generally separate and spill out its shavings contents unintentionally.  A great choice all around!  Replacement blades available separately, but generally not needed for ages.

Stockmar Watercolour Paints make their mark with their excellent 'scumbling' properties, natural transparency and lightfastness.  The colour range follows the extended version of Goethe's "Theory of colours".  Each tone has been adjusted so that it can be mixed well with the others.  Harmonious intermediate gradations and boundary-less colour blending are also possible when using the wet-on-wet technique.

Stockmar Watercolour Paints have been tried and tested in art education, at school and kindergarten. These non-toxic paints are long-lasting and remain completely water soluble when dry.

Made from gum arabic and the finest light-resistant colour pigments.  All intermediate shades can be achieved without losing any brilliance or intensity.  Mixed with white, the watercolours can be used for more opaque, non-transparent painting.

Ideal for the safe and stable use of glass paint jars with lids.  Mercurius re-designed their paint jar holders in recent years.  These are now precisely milled holes to hold the 50 ml or 100ml jars from Mercurius with even greater stability.  Also available in a 3-hole version for kindergarten classes.

Jars with lids are a practical and economical way to work with watercolours.  Left-over colours can be kept in the jar.  The lid keeps the colours fresh for many days and they do not need to be tipped back or washed out.  The jar is also suitable for glue, ink or Indian ink.

Watercolour paint that is mixed with water is normally done so in a small quantity for a painting session, yet one may often still have paint leftover and in good condition, wishing to pick up again later in the day or in the next days.  Painting with these jars offers a way to save the mixed paint to use again.

*Please note: we find the 50 ml size large enough, and it is the size most people often go with.  The 100 ml size is even taller and may hold more paint.  Whichever size you go with the wooden paint jar holders sold separately ARE NOT interchangeable between the jars.

For correcting and lightening charcoal and pastel drawings, as well as blackboard chalk drawings.  Also suitable for cleaning transparencies (slides) and final artwork.  The eraser is extremely easy to knead and absorbent.

Kneadable Art Erasers are well suited to correcting charcoal, pencil and pastel work.  They are easily kneadable and absorbent and leave no residue behind.

One can mold the eraser into a comfortable shape in the hand, and then use whatever shape and size suits to press to their work in progress to lighten, alter or fade a spot of work.

The eraser comes in a small plastic reseable box to keep it clean and fresh.  PVC-free eraser.

Mixing watercolours, and beginning with just one colour at a time, and then slowly introducing colour mixing is what is most recommended for the kindergarten and younger primary grades in a traditional Waldorf education; however, we quite like this offering from Stockmar for the middle and older elementary grades, as well as for travel and painting outdoors. Also, if one finds themselves without enough time to mix concentrated watercolour paints with water and portion into jars or bowls for painting, this also offers a nice and easy, yet alternative that does not sacrifice in quality.

The three basic or primary colours form a triangle; between them are the secondary colours, formed by mixing the adjacent primaries - green from yellow and blue, orange from yellow and red, and violet from red and blue. The colours opposite to one another are complementary colours in which forms the widest possible contrast.
If we now mix the primary with the secondary colours, we arrive at an extension of the colour circle. For example, we can mix red and violet to make red-violet, or yellow and orange to make yellow-orange. In order to enhance the range of colours, and to obtain a variety from mixing them, the Stockmar box of Opaque colours includes two tones of each basic colour: Lemon Yellow, Golden Yellow, Carmine Red, Vermilion, Ultramarine, and Prussian Blue.

The Stockmar colours are delicately balanced with one another, and when mixed will yield harmonious shades of colours.

Like all Stockmar's colour materials, these Opaque colours have a unique luminosity. Well balanced for younger children.  Comfortable even for an adult in the hand, but nicely manageable for younger children.  It is often very hard for children to keep a long handle properly balanced in their small hands.  With this in mind, Mercurius offers this special brush, that is more short-handled than others, in their range for kindergarten and lower elementary grade children.

Perfect wet-on-wet and watercolour painting. 

The brushes are soft, flexible, resistant to damage and the absorption and release capacity is amazingly high.  

We normally recommend the brush with 18 mm width at the base of the bristles, which is ~3/4 inch.  It is one most commonly used in Waldorf kindergartens and most recommended by programs such as Oak Meadow, and others for Waldorf homeschooling.  20 mm and 22 mm wide bristles are also recommended in some curricula.

The kindergartener's paintbrush is not only for kindergarteners, but in fact used in lower elementary grades in Waldorf schools as well.  Pointed tip paintbrushes are not typically introduced until upper elementary or high school in most Waldorf schools.

Mercurius has also made a new model of this paintbrush with vegan bristles.  The brush has soft bristles made of synthetic cow hair and a rust proof, closed ferrule and is finished with a white wax coating.  This brush is not only equal to the natural bristle brushes (polecat, cow and boar brushes) but exceeds their capabilities in softness and flexibility.  While the bristles are not biodegradable, the fact that the synthetic hair contributes to the sparing of animal hair makes us glad to offer them in our range.

Charcoal is a natural product made from burnt wood.  The velvety quality of charcoal is highly appreciated by professional artists, architects and beginners.  The selection of the raw material has been studied for a long time, in order to obtain the appropriate texture and hardness, so that this product represents the best material for sketches and drawing.
